Day 13 - Cape Girardeau To Ste Genevieve MO

70 miles

Low 60's to 70's

The Campbell's start each morning with some nice easy stretching, limbering the body for the days ride, and setting a great example for all. Loaded up a bike path whisked us out of town into hilly terrain. Amid farms and barns we climbed some nice long rollers. Up and down until we reached Hemman Winery. We were too early to tour, but the site offered us a great place to rest a few. The small town also offers a post office and blacksmith shop. A few more climbs and we once again found flatland. Pancake flat, where our friend the headwind greeted us. Motivation was found knowing somewhere out there Michael was waiting to snap our Official 1/2 way pic. Yes! Today we reach the midway point of our trek up the Mississippi. Kieth proved to be super excited to celebrate the occasion. Pushing thru the wind we got our break as we climbed that last ridge into Ste. Genevieve.
