Day 12 - Union City TN to Cape Girardeau MO

90 miles

Mid 50's to mid 70's

A three state day with three different rides, all include wind. The morning was cool, our friend the wind changing as we took each turn. First flat, then gentle rolls as we made our way to Kentucky to catch a ferry across the mighty Mississippi. There were fields of wheat, some of corn. We rode thru quiet neighborhoods and lots of dogs. One, in particular, wasn't interested in cyclists but loved chasing our van. Arriving in Hickman, KY we were treated to an overlook with an awesome view, and rolled down to the ferry landing. There, we snacked as we waited to board. The ferry takes us across the Mississippi into Missouri, pancake flat Missouri, where nothing protects you from the wind. The team worked together straight into the wind, Michael in the lead, pulling the train into SAG. Thank you Michael. The team split at SAG as the road again began to roll.
